The University Museum has been a science museum since 1934. It is located in the academic heart of the city of Groningen. There is something to see for everyone between the ages of 8 to 88. The diversity of the collection is suitable for all kinds of groups at various educational levels. At the permanent exhibition, areas such as nature, culture and science meet each other.
At this moment we invite you to visit the temporarily exhibition Ancient Culture, Modern Art. Aboriginal art from Australia. Until November 4th, 2012 you can visit this exhibition. It starts off with images and information about the Australian Aboriginal culture and history. After this introduction we focus on traditional and contemporary art. Although this is a small presentation, it shows the ‘Picassos’ of the modern Aboriginal Art. And have you ever seen a duck-billed platypus?
