Mentor and Integration Committee (MIC)

The main purpose of the Mentor and Integration Committee is to enhance the integration between the Dutch and international students. Integration is stimulated by the mentor system, in which Dutch students help international students find their way in Groningen. The matching of mentors to international students is done by the whole committee; the different faculties are divided under the committee-members. The mentor system is performed at the Hanze University and the University of Groningen.

Besides this the committee organizes one integration activity per month for Dutch and international students. Examples of these activities are the small activities (visiting FC Groningen, celebrating Sinterklaas, Ice skating, Canoeing, Bowling). Next to this the MIC organizes two big integration activities in cooperation with other associations, for instance a sports tournament. There are five positions in the committee: a president, secretary, treasurer, PR and two activity coordinators. The committee takes 5-6 hours a week.
