The Erasmus Magazine committee is responsible for a lot of the written work of ESN Groningen. Twice a year they create the Erasmus Magazine. The new incoming international students receive this magazine before they arrive in Groningen. A lot of helpful information is in this magazine so they know to what city they are going to. The committee also writes a mini-EM that we put in the goodie bag of the introduction week. The mini-EM is a pocket book with tips and tricks about Groningen. Besides the two written magazines, the committee also writes the blogs on the ESN website that is read by a lot of international students every day.
Last but not least, the committee started this year with writing an online magazine with a theme. For example, the first magazine we published is about Queens Day and Liberty Day. We provided the internationals with all information about both days: the history, where to go in Groningen, where to go outside Groningen and much more. We are planning on writing 4 online magazines a year.
The committee consist of 6 people: a president and a secretary and the rest writes the blog. There is also one of the committee responsible for the lay-out of the magazine. So if you are familiar with InDesign, this committee might be the right one for you! You spend approximately 5-6 hours a week on this committee.
