In the spotlight: Sezin Köylüoğlu

Tue, 25/05/2010 - 13:17 — reporters@esn-g...

 1.Who are you?

Name ?  Sezin Köylüoğlu

Age? 22

Hometown?  Ankara/Turkey

2.       Studies

What? Sociology

Year? 4

Why? I like the issues about my study, it is all from the life which we live in.

3.       What do you do apart from studying (hobbies etc.)? Theater, dubbing.

4.       Why did you choose to go abroad? I want to live in a culture which I am totally not familiar and to experience it going abroad is the best way.

5.       Why Groningen/Holland? There is no special reason.

6.       Describe your first day in Holland / Groningen. It was interesting because I felt that I am in the another part of this world and I am totally alone J  but besides this my first impression about the Dutch people that they are so friendly and so nice.

7.       What’s been your most positive experience so far? I was in the train from Amsterdam to Groningen and I have two huge luggages. I had difficulties to put them to the top part of the train and I was so shy to ask help to people because I felt that I can’t talk proper English in my fist day. But a man helped me a lot and also after we arrived Groningen, he offered me to carry them until the taxi. It was really nice.

8.       And the most negative one? I have been in the hospitals two times, I was really sick  but they told me I have to wait. I wait maybe 3 hours, but the women in the information desk was so rude to me I don’t know why. I can accept that the health system is different here but she knows that I am an international student. It was not a good experience for me.

9.       Describe the Dutch in 3 words… Friendly, know how to enjoy life and funny people

10.   What’s the main difference between your country and the Netherlands? I am sorry but it’s hard to tell it just few sentences.

11.   What do you miss most about home (and you can’t say ‘friends and family’!)?  Foods J
