 a.       Name:  Aleksi Romppainen

c.       Hometown:  Oulu Finland

a.       What? Business Economics
b.      What year? 2
c.       Why? Because it’s interesting
 
3.       What do you do apart from studying (hobbies etc.)?
I like to play squash, watch movies and go barhopping
 
4.       Why did you choose to go abroad?  
I want to get some new experiences and meet new peoples
 
5.       And why Holland / Groningen?
My friend has lived here for a couple of years and he recommended this place to me
 
6.       Describe your first day in Holland / Groningen.
New country and lots of new people, so it was very exciting.
 
7.       What’s been your most positive experience so far?
I think that was the introduction week because it was so useful and after that I knew how to move around here
 
8.       And the most negative one?
 In Finland I`m used to getting cheap warm meal in school and here I don`t get that.
 
9.       Describe the Dutch in 3 words…
Tall, happy, relaxing
 
10.   What’s the main difference between Finland and the Netherlands?
It`s warmer here than in Finland!
 
11.   What do you miss most about home (and you can’t say ‘friends and family’!)?
Rye bread
 
12.   Does Holland live up to your expectations, is it like you thought it would be?
Very much
 
13.   What do you think of ESN so far?
Great experience
 
14.   What are your goals for this term?
Meet new people and learn to speak English
 
15.   Why would you or would you not recommend Groningen to your friends back home?
I would recommend it because I like this country
