International House Contest: Sign Up Now!

Is your international student house the best out of all of them? Can no one beat your floor when it comes to group spirit or party skills? Is that guy from Winschoterdiep always bragging about his house but do you like your Blekerstraat much better? Nominate your house by sending an email to reporters@esn-groningen.nl!

GREAT PRIZES
Continuing in last year's tradition, the EM will visit international houses to see which house or floor is the best in all of Groningen. Is your house more fun than all others, or do you host great get togethers? Then you should nominate your house or floor for the title of Best International House of 2011. You and your housemates can win:
- an engraved trophy
- a session with a professional photographer, Gerard Taatgen (http://www.taatgen-fotografie.nl/) who will take plenty of pictures of you and your friends at a prime Groninger location. A tangible memory of your semester, to complement all other friendships and things you’ll take away from here. It’s a perfect way for you to make sure that you will remember your semester and friends in Groningen forever! Taatgen Fotografie is located at the Ubbo Emmiusstraat 11, and has been a renowned name in event- and other photography for years now.

But most importantly, this is your opportunity to etch your name into ESN history, as the trophy will be engraved with your house’s details if you win. This is the opportunity to show all students how your house gets down, and that no one can do it better than you guys can.

A VISIT FROM US
But of course, these prizes are only for the very best, and you will have to convince us that your house is just that. Last year’s EM committee started this contest, and we plan to make it an ESN tradition. We (at least several members of the EM committee and/or the board) will visit your house/floor for an evening. What we do is entirely up to yourselves. You can invite us for a regular house evening, a party, to play board games, whatever you think will give us the best impression of the fantastic atmosphere in your house and show us your group spirit. Not everyone on your floor/in your house has to participate, just find a fun group of people who you love to spend time with anyways (no minimum or maximum amount) and we’ll just join you. We do expect you to give us a tour of the house, and we’ll film a short video to post on the website so that other people can also see what your house-style is!

APRIL 4th - NOMINATION DEADLINE
You can nominate your house by sending an email to reporters@esn-groningen.nl We will stop by on an evening between April 6 and May 6. You can select the date with your house/floormates. Send us an email with your addres, and the floor/house you’re from, how many people you expect to participate, what some of your plans are for the evening, and the date you would like us to come over.

WEDNESDAY MAY 11- ANNOUNCEMENT WINNER AT THE THEME PARTY
The Equipo Fiesta will throw one of their infamous theme parties on Wednesday May 11, and we will announce the winner of the International Student House Contest 2011 there at 1AM. The winning house can celebrate extra hard that evening, and will also be able to pick up the trophy and prize (but don’t worry, you can pick a date with the photographer yourselves, no drunk party faces on the pictures—unless you want to).
